Who We Are

The Matanuska Beat is an adult percussion ensemble that is comprised of Valley residents who want to play percussion in a group setting. Many who join the group start with little or no percussion experience. You will be taught playing techniques on every instrument. It is recommended that new members already know how to read basic rhythms. The ensemble typically performs 2-3 performances throughout the year. Rehearsals are held weekly September-May with a break in summer months. 

Rehearsals 

Rehearsals are every Saturday from 10:00- 10:45 throughout the academic year. We meet at the Percussion in the Valley Studio in Palmer.
